American Legion Auxiliary, Campbell-Richmond Unit #63
Scholarship Guidelines
Each Spring, Auxiliary Unit #63 will offer scholarships. Scholarship amounts will vary depending on funds available in the account and will be announced at the time of the application.
Applicant must:
- Be a current paid member of Campbell-Richmond #63,
- Legion, Auxiliary, Sons of the American Legion, IVMHA
- or the child/grandchild of said member:
- Be accepted to a college or trade school of your choice for Summer or Fall of the same y
- Be a first-time recipient of an Auxiliary Unit #63 Scholarship
Per our Standing Rules, all checks will be written directly to the school, no checks will be written to an individual. The funds can be used toward tuition or books, but still must be paid directly to the school.
Applications will be reviewed during open membership meetings and approved by majority vote.
If for any reason the applicant does not complete their semester/quarter by dropping out, we expect that the scholarship be returned in good faith.
Checks that have not been cashed by the end of the December will be cancelled, and funds returned to the pool for the next year.
Events will be held during the year to help fund the scholarship account, including Coin Show Lunches and other events. Please help us support those activities!

The American Legion offers a number of scholarships and other resources to assist young people in their pursuit of higher education. Each year, the Legion facilitates the awarding of millions of dollars in scholarships to high school students. There are opportunities for everyone, including kin of wartime veterans and participants in Legion programs.

The American Legion’s Legacy Scholarship provides college funding to children of post-9/11 veterans who died on active duty, or those who have a combined VA disability rating of 50 percent or greater.
